The “ISEE” is used to assess the Household Income (combined family members income and estate), when social benefits are requested in Italy.

In the case of university students, a more specific indicator ("ISEE università") is used for assessing access to services and benefits (e.g. reduced fees calculation, fees waiver, university restaurants, campus accommodation, etc.).

The “ISEE università” value is in Euros.

Italian citizens and financially independent foreign citizens with residence in Italy must request each year their “ISEE Università” by compiling the DSU (“Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica”) in one of the following ways:

• with the help of a CAF centre (free of charge) or of a professional tax consultant
• by the other methods indicated on the INPS website (in Italian only).

Please do not submit your ISEE certification directly to the University: UniTrento will automatically acquire your “ISEE Università” data, once your online request for financial aid has been completed.

To get a reduction of your tuition fees, your "ISEE università" must be calculated by December 31, 2022.

Please note that in order to apply for a scholarship and/or accommodation, you must comply the "ISEE Università" deadlines provided by the official call of the Opera Universitaria 2022/2023.

"ISEE Università 2022" validity is only for the academic year 2022/2023.

To be valid your "ISEE Università”:

• must be valid for the academic year 2022/2023 (by December 31, 2022)
• must show the following information “si applica alle prestazioni agevolate per il diritto allo studio universitario” for you (written in Italian on the “ISEE università”)
• must not have Mistakes/Omissions

If your “ISEE università” does not meet those requirements you will be assigned to the maximum amount of tuition fees as long as you calculate the correct “ISEE università” by December 31, 2022.

How to check your ISEE University statement

UniTrento will acquire your “ISEE Università” statement from July 11 only for students enrolled at university. When your university ISEE is acquired on Esse3, an automatic email is sent to your university account and you can check it on your MyUnitn area by adding the “ISEE università per servizi UniTrento” widget (in Italian only).

If your “ISEE Università” statement is correct, you will see your ISEE value. In this case University of Trento will not make a new check. If you choose to apply for a new ISEE statement, please write an email to helptassestudenti@unitn.it with the day of the new DSU.

If the widget indicates that “non è disponibile un indicatore ISEE università calcolato in tuo favore” for the academic year 2022/23, the reason is usually:

• in the ISEE 2022 statement, the ISEE applicabile to “ prestazioni agevolate per il diritto allo studio universitario” (i.e. university students' subsidised benefits) has not been calculated
• the ISEE università has been calculated but not in your favour.

The ISEE 2022 statement is valid only if in the paragraph after the box with the “ISEE ordinario” you find the text “si applica alle prestazioni agevolate per il diritto allo studio universitario in favore di…” (written in Italian only) and your tax code (i.e. codice fiscale) and/or if in the following page there is the table “PRESTAZIONI AGEVOLATE PER IL DIRITTO ALLO STUDIO UNIVERSITARIO” with information about you.

Example of a correct ISEE università

If the widget indicates that “non può essere acquisito l’indicatore ISEE università calcolato in tuo favore”, this means that there are some “omissions or discrepancies” in your ISEE certification.
Discrepancies or omissions detected by INPS in the Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica (DSU) filled in to have the ISEE university calculated are listed (in Italian only) in the 'Annotazioni' section, generally starting from the bottom of the first side of the certificate.

In both cases of non-conformity described above, you will have to contact the CAF or the subject who assisted you in compiling the DSU to request a new ISEE calculation to correct or supplement the data, otherwise you will be assigned the maximum amount of university fees and will not benefit from UniTrento's services for which the calculation of the household economic condition is required.

The date of submission of the first DSU only will be considered for the purpose of ISEE deadlines.

A calculation of Current ISEE ("ISEE corrente") may be asked if the employee is under a permanent job contract, in case of recent and relevant variations of income or interruptions of the salary and other treatments or adverse events such as loss of the job or suspension or reduction of work time.

The calculation of Current ISEE is based on the income of the last 12 months (or 2 months, in that case the income will be multiplied by INPS - the Italian Social Security Institute - by six to put it in scale with the entire year).

A calculation of the so-called Current ISEE (ISEE corrente) may be asked by submitting the form “DSU current ISEE” in case a valid ISEE has been already issued.

 A Current ISEE has a six-month validity from the date of submission of the “DSU current ISEE”, unless variations in the employment situation or in the availability of the salary and other treatments occur. In that case, it must be updated within two months.

For the students of UniTrento, the method of calculation and update of the Current ISEE is the same as the one used for the ISEE Università. After having submitted the DSU to a CAF centre or to another financial advisor, subject to the times of elaboration of INPS (the Italian Social Security Institute), students can check their situation on their MyUnitn webspace by using the widget "ISEE Università".
