Mandatory Safety training for students

According to the article 8 of University Safety Regulation (which implements the provisions of DM 369/98) “students on university courses, PhD students, postgraduate students, research fellowship holders, trainees, fellowship holders and their equivalents, when attending teaching, research or service laboratories or when, by reason of the activity specifically carried out, are exposed to risks identified in the Risk Assessment Document (DVR) are considered “workers” of the University as well as academic staff, technical and administrative staff and collaborators.

The mandatory safety training courses concerns:

  • students of Bachelor’s Degree, integrated Master’s degree, Master’s Degree, PhD and Incoming Mobility Programmes (Erasmus+, Bilateral Agreements, Double Degree, etc.) attending laboratories with exposure to specific risks, including computer laboratories

The University of Trento has developed a safety training plan for all the students organized in three different levels:

Recognition of certificates for previous courses - Medium Risk

If you already have a safety training certificate equivalent to those required by UniTrento for Specific training - Medium risk, gained within educational or working activities outside the University of Trento,  you can apply for the recognition of your certificates:

The University of Trento checks the validity of your certificate and the expiration date for the specific training.

Once your certificate has been approved, you are exempt from the obligation to attend the Safety Course - Medium Risk and you will be able to carry out workshop or part-time collaboration activities.

The recognition of the certificate does not allow you to obtain an ODB (Open Digital Badge).

Certificates for General or Specific - Low Risk training course are not accepted: you have to complete the mandatory courses provided by UniTrento.

Check of Safety Training requirements

When you successfully complete a training course or obtain recognition of a certificate for previous training, you can check the training obligations you have passed in the Safety Training section of the UniTrentoApp.

If you do not see the Safety Training menu label, check the UniTrentoApp updates and try to log out and login.
